Installation

Follow these instructions to install the SOAP Toolkit and MetSOAP DLL if you haven't already, then...

Step C. Download the spreadsheet and adjust Excel's macro security settings

1. Click here to download a spreadsheet (ExcelMetSOAP.xls) that can retrieve data through MetSOAP
2. Open Excel and choose Tools | Macros | Security. On the Security Level page choose Medium to allow macros to run
3. Open the downloaded spreadsheet ExcelMetSOAP.xls. When asked, allow Excel to enable macros.

Operation

Notes on using the spreadsheet:

• Choose a database, station, and sometimes region from the controls on Sheet1.
• Note that you need to actually select each of the above listboxes (make it blue) to make it do its job.
• Sometimes it may take a little while for the spreadsheet to get lists of stations from MetSOAP - particularly for larger databases.
• Details of the selected station appear in the third column.
• Enter the date range of interest in the first column, and press the Get Data button.

If you want to change the language of the station names etc, change the Language cell (A34 at the moment) to "ja", "en", "ko" etc, then save the spreadsheet and reopen it.
